Notes: Douglas Lake in Cheboygan county is the 28th largest inland lake in Michigan based on surface area (DNR report 2000). Although the lake has a maximum depth of 80 feet, most of the lake is less than 30 feet deep with extensive shoals of less than 15 feet deep. The lake is located near the town of Pellston and bordered extensively by the University of Michigan Biological Station. A sailing presence is reported on the lake with weekly Sunfish racing occuring in July and August.
Public access to this lake is served by a small DNR launch (see following Google map), which has parking for only 5 trailers.
