ABOUT THIS PAGE - The color of the launch ramps on the Google map gives a rough idea (based on DNR criteria) of the restrictions likely at that site. Green indicates that all-trailerable (<26') boats should be able to be launched. Note: This DNR determination is likely geared toward motorboats and not sailboats drafting over 3 feet. Yellow indicates only moderately sized center-board boats may be capable of launching, while red indicates more severe restrictions. Clicking on the indicators will give more info on the ramp and allow for directions to be obtained.

Lake Access & the DNR Passport

Most Michigan DNR ramps require access fees. These fees are waived for Michigan residents who have selected the Passport option during their vehicle license renewal. SailMichigan highly recommends this option. Out of state visitors can access these ramps for an $8 daily fee or a $29 annual fee. These "visitor passports" may be purchased at any state park or online.

The ramp is run by the U.S. National Forest Service and is associated with a public marina with the following amenities: water, electricity (20, 30A), restrooms, gasoline, pump-out, ice, long term parking, public phone , dog run, day use dockage, playground/park, and grills/picnic area. The marina offers transient and seasonal slips and can be reached at (906) 932-1330 (Early May to Late September) or on radio channel 16.
