Lake Type: Kettle / Glacial
Area: 165 acres
Lake Orient.: North-South
Max. Depth: 56 ft
Notes:

Fish Lake is located in the Yankee Springs Recreational area, about 1 mile east of the Village of Orangeville and 5 miles south of Gun Lake. This undeveloped, natural lake is suitable only for adventurous sailors seeking a rare wilderness-like experience in S.W. Michigan. Sailboat access is difficult. A narrow dirt road leads to a small (5 car) DNR launch site with a gravel ramp and NO amenities.  Boats are launched into a shallow (4 ft.) creek and then must be propelled upstream 100 yards into the lake. The reward is a wonderfully unspoiled and scenic sailing area. The lake has a nice, open, N & S orientation, steep drop offs, and few shoal areas. The water is clear with a slight green tea color. There is one island at the North end and several creeks empty into the lake. Some small fishing boats and paddlecraft  may be seen but high-powered watercraft are rare (sailboats even rarer). Conveniences are located in the Gun Lake area.
